Modelling columnarity of pyramidal cells in the human cerebral cortex

چکیده
For modelling the location of pyramidal cells in human cerebral cortex, we suggest a hierarchical point process that exhibits anisotropy form cylinders extending along z-axis. The model consists first generalised shot noise Cox for xy-coordinates, providing cylindrical clusters, and next Markov random field z-coordinates conditioned on either repulsion, aggregation or both within specified areas interaction. Several cases these processes are fitted to two cell data sets, final allowing repulsion attraction between points seem adequate. We discuss how relates so-called minicolumn hypothesis neuroscience.
